Great Breakfast Stop! I recomend biscuits and gravy, but really anything there is worth the stop:)

Great home cooking. Best fried chicken & banana pudding. Taste like grandma made it. Only took cash though. $16 for 2 meals though.

We felt from the time we walked in the door that every employee wanted to take care of us. The food was great; I had the chicken with the salad bar. I will go back!

This is a good place to go if you want good 'ol fashioned southern food. It's sort of off the beaten track but worth the trip. My father is from this area and has been going there for years. You get generous portions of food and the service is always friendly. One word of caution though, they don't take credit cards, so bring cash with you when you come in. They are famous for their sweet potato fries, every time I go in there, I here someone talking about them. The desserts are also very good and appear to be home-made. The refrigerated dessert case looks like it is probably from the 1960's and I mean that in a good way, it just adds to the ambiance. If your in this area, I highly recommending stopping by the Pioneer for a good southern meal at a good price.

This roadside country diner is one of those places where you can get a good meal at a good price. One of the lunch specials was a quarter chicken plus two sides for $4.95. I opted for the Reuben sandwich which came with fries for $5.95 and a side of fried okra. Kids meals are 3 bucks and come with fries and iced tea -- sweet tea, of course. Be sure to order a slice of pie for 2 bucks. This place is southern and everybody sitting around you will say hi with a friendly smile and a thick country accent, complete with extra syllables. The linoleum floors, 70's era paneling, and glass case with a cash register near the front door all make it the typical old country diner. It's worth a stop if you are driving through on US17.
